I don’t need a loan pair; how do I get my scissors polished?

2. Send your Mizutani scissors to us in a cardboard box, with the tips of the scissors closed with a rubber band, and your scissors well protected with bubble wrap and packing paper to avoid any damage in the post on their way to us. In the box – also include the printed form with your contact details. Post your scissors using registered post.

3. When they come back from Japan, we post them back to the address specified.
**** PLEASE NOTE THAT WHILE WE WILL ATTEMPT TO REMOVE ALL RUST FROM YOUR SCISSORS, DEEP RUST CAN INGRAIN THE METAL AND BECOME TOO DEEP TO REMOVE COMPLETELY. THIS MEANS THAT YOU MUST CONTINUE TO POLISH YOUR SCISSORS DAILY TO AVOID THE RUST FROM SPREADING AGAIN ****
RUST IS CORROSION OF METAL, THIS CAN CREATE LITTLE CHANNELS WITHIN YOUR BALDES WHICH WILL MAKE YOUR CUTS FEEL ROUGH.
RUST IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, TO AVOID RUST PLEASE KEEP YOUR SCISSORS IN A DRY ENVIRONMENT, IN A CLEAN DRY CASE, AND REMOVE ANY WATER FROM THE BLADES AT THE END OF EVERYDAY. RUST WILL RUIN YOUR SCISSORS PERMANENTLY IF ALLOWED TO.
RUST REMOVAL IS NOT COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE AND WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO SHARPENING YOUR SCISSORS.
If your scissors are beyond the point of repair we will let you know prior to having any servicing done, and return your scissors to you.
How long will this process take?
Rust removal and polishing takes around 4-8 weeks to perfect, this includes transit times to and from Japan and back to you. We recommend having your scissors sharpened during this time to avoid having more time without your scissors in the near future,
When do we send off your scissors to Japan for repair?
Your scissors will be sent to Japan with our regular sharpening shipments on these dates, please try to get your scissors to us close to shipment dates to shorten wait times:
